​        The story is a tribute to the life and extraordinary valour of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration for gallantry.

        The film is primarily set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. It follows the journey of Arun Khetarpal (Agastya Nanda), who was martyred in action during the Battle of Basantar at the young age of 21 (which is what the title, "Ikkis," means). The film is described as a coming-of-age drama that showcases the transformation of an idealistic young cadet into a national hero, focusing on moments of courage, duty, and the human cost of war. Veteran actor Dharmendra plays the role of Arun Khetarpal's father, adding an important emotional and family-bond dimension to the patriotic narrative. The story also includes a sequence set 30 years later.
