(10) Mirai Story / Plot:
The Mirai's story traces back to Emperor Ashoka, who, after the bloodshed of the Kalinga war, created a secret society to protect nine "granthas" (sacred books). These books are said to contain immense power that could turn a mortal into a deity, and if they fall into the wrong hands, they could destroy the world. The primary antagonist is Mahabir Lama, also known as the "Black Sword" (Manchu Manoj), a powerful and ruthless man driven by a backstory of caste prejudice and societal rejection. He is on a relentless quest to acquire all nine granthas to become immortal and rule the world. The film's hero is Vedha Prajapathi (Teja Sajja), a young man who is unaware of his destiny. He lives a carefree life, but he is the chosen one, destined to protect the ninth and most powerful grantha, "Amaragrandham." His journey is a classic underdog story where he must realize his true potential and embrace his role as a protector. Vedha is found by Vibha (Ritika Nayak), a young monk who informs him of his divine mission. He must embark on a quest to find the mystical staff, the "Mirai," which is the ultimate weapon to stop Mahabir. As Vedha begins his journey, he learns about his past and the profound connection he has to the nine granthas, particularly a promise he made to his mother before his birth. The movie explores themes of spirituality, ancient lore, and human values like sacrifice, love, greed, and vengeance. It blends a mythological narrative with modern superhero storytelling, creating a visually-rich and action-packed experience. The story also draws heavily from the Ramayana, with references to Lord Shri Ram and the Sampati bird, especially in the climax.
