The first weekend of Tamasha is 8th Highest of 2015 behind PRDP, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Welcome Back, Brothers , ABCD 2 and Singh is Bliing and Gabbar is Back.

Ranbir kapoor and Deepika padukone starrer Tamasha has a Production Budget of 60 Cr and prints and advertising budget of 15 Cr
Tamasha was sold by Producer Sajid Nadiadwala to UTV as part of a 3 picture deal also containing Phantom and Tiger Shroff's next Baaghi. The total deal was rumoured to be valued at approximately 200 Cr minimum guarantee.
Tamasha was expected to be major gainer for UTV in the deal.

Imtiaz Ali as a director has had a mixed record with decent successes like Jab we Met and Rockstar and average movies like Highway.
This is a very critical movie for Ranbir Kapoor to get his appeal back at the box office.
