The film was scheduled to be released on 14 August, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 29 June 2020, Disney+ Hotstar conducted virtual press conference where Ajay Devgn announced that the film will release on Disney+ Hotstar exclusively as part of Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex initiative which was a result of theatre shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Ajay Devgn plays a brave IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik in his next titled Bhuj: The Pride Of India. The film is set during the time of the Indo-Pak war in 1971 where Karnik with his team, with the help of the local women reconstructed the demolished Indian Air Force airstrip at Bhuj, creating history. Karnik was lauded for his valiant efforts which saved the day for the Indians. The film will be a tribute to unparalleled bravado displayed by not only Karnik but 300 women from the villages near Bhuj who accomplished this feat.
Bhuj: The Pride of India is inspired by the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war where the airstrip at Bhuj was destroyed in combat and the brave officer, Vikram Karnik essayed by Ajay Devgn built the Bhuj airport along with 300 women from a nearby village; a move that helped India win the war. Sonakshi Sinha essays the role of Sunderben Jetha - a social worker who risked everything to help armed forces in this critical time. Sanjay Dutt brings to life the role of Ranchordas Pagi whose efforts are said to have saved thousands of lives.
