Actor Vijay plays triple roles in this film with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menon and Kajal Agarwal playing the female lead roles. The film is directed and co-written by Atlee. Mersal also releasing in Telugu dubbed version and titled as Adirindhi.

G. K. Vishnu is the cinematographer of Mersal and it has been edited by Ruben & the Action Director of the film is Anl Arasu. The screenplay has been written by Atlee, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad & S.
