(10) Ikkis Story / Plot:

Ikkis is a biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
The film's narrative is divided between two distinct timelines:
The 1971 War (Past): The story follows 21-year-old Arun Khetarpal (Agastya Nanda), a tank commander in the 17 Poona Horse regiment. It chronicles his journey from training to his heroic stand at the Battle of Basantar. Despite his tank being hit and set on fire, Arun refused to abandon it, famously stating that his gun was still functional and he would continue to destroy the enemy. He successfully took out 10 enemy tanks before attaining martyrdom.
The 2001 Visit (Present): Set 30 years later, shortly after the Kargil War, the narrative follows Arun's father, Brigadier Madan Lal Khetarpal (Dharmendra), as he travels to his ancestral home in Sargodha, Pakistan. He is hosted by a Pakistani officer, Brigadier Khwaja Mohammed Naser (Jaideep Ahlawat), who was actually the opposing commander during the battle where Arun died.
Unlike typical high-octane patriotic films, Ikkis is described as a poignant, anti-war drama. It focuses on the human cost of conflict and the shared grief between families on both sides of the border. The film is notable for being the final screen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away in late 2025.
While praised by critics for its emotional depth and "humanizing" of soldiers, the film faced some backlash from viewers expecting a more traditional, aggressive nationalistic tone.
